As the vet looks at the dog’s paw, he gasps. His warning? It can happen so fast!

This shocking photo comes from a veterinarian in Florida. It shows us one of the ways pets are affected by extreme heat. On a really hot day, surfaces such as asphalt or sand can heat up so much it causes second degree burns!

"This is what happens when a dog is walked on surfaces that are too hot! So folks, always check the sidewalk or road - if it's too hot for you, it's definitely too hot for your pets!"
Be careful out there!
