There’s a certain point in every relationship when one side of the happy pair starts dropping not-so-subtle hints that they’d like to really settle down, preferably with a pretty ring on their finger.
When Alexa and Nick started chatting about the possibility of marriage, he made it clear that he was determined to have his proposal catch her by surprise. Plenty of men plan extravagant ways to pop the question, like the news reporter who turned his nightly story into a life-changing adventure.
Nick had a similarly bold plan, only he doesn’t usually have cameras following him around so he had to borrow some from talk show host Meredith Vieira.
While sitting in the audience, the couple listens as Vieira introduces her next guest’s movie clip like she would for any of the famous faces that join her on stage.
However, instead of a big Hollywood story, Alexa is floored to see her own romance with Nick played out on the screen. With the camera recording her hilarious reaction, she clearly begins to sense something big is about to happen for her.
As the clip ends, Nick gets ready to drop down on one knee. Alexa can’t help but cover her face in total disbelief and say, “This is not happening.”
