When Ellie, a baby elephant with severe health issues got rejected by his heard, rescuing him meant much more than just giving him medical treatment – it meant healing his loneliness as well.
Because of his severe condition, Ellie was brought to Thula Thula Rhino orphanage and with no other elephant around, he became sad and lethargic. Several attempts to reconnect him with his herd have failed and his growing need for companionship was something his caretakers weren’t able to heal. But when they introduced him to this dog, the two made the most amazing bond.
