Did Buddha uttered a single word that instigate violance whatsoever?
Is there any verse or a phrase in any Buddhist scripture that promote violance in any way?
Is there any reason for anyone to insult Buddha in any way? To make fun of his charactor?
It is ok to question anything in any religion. May it be the principles, philosophy behind or the nature of the relious teacher as there are religious teachings that contradicts modern human values and common sense. But It is not advisable to insult a relious leader withiut an apparent reason.
As Quoted in the petition, “Buddha was all about compassion & kindness. Buddhist scriptures never put down anybody or any religion or any theology for that matter. Buddha always encourage his followers to be compassionate, generous and kind. Even the enemies of a person. In fact he emphasized why we should respect every living being like how you would respect yourself.”
We found this doodle used in a series of merchandise by Tomas Jordan @GnomJordy. Here’s a petition that requests him to refrain from making fun of Buddha’s image as this could set a bad trend inviting others to misuse distorted Buddha imges for cheap commercial purposes where ethics cease to exist.
